An IP address is responsible for network interface identification and location addressing. Whenever you connect your iMac with network it is granted with four sets of digits separated by periods. Step 1:Get to home screen on iMac. Click on the Apple icon present on the left corner of the screen. Scroll down the list and select the ‘System Preferences’ option.
Step 2:Under the hood of ‘internet and wireless’ you will find ‘Network’ option. Click on it and list of networks will be appeared.
Step 3:Generally, your iMac is connected to network via AirPort (wireless) or Ethernet (wired). Select your network and your IP address will be displayed below your connection status. You can also find out Subnet mask and DNS server address from the list.
